Photographers Association Gilgit-Baltistan
(PAGB) in collaboration
with the Tourism, Sports, Culture, Archaeology and Museum Department
Gilgit-Baltistan launched a campaign to clean up Satpara Lake, the only
source of drinking and cultivating water for Skardu town. A huge amount of
rubbish was collected during this campaign, including plastic bags, wrappers,
plastic bottles, pampers etc. Satpara Lake is the only source of drinking water
for Skardu town, if situation remains the same, severe diseases may transmit in
community like Diarrhea, Hepatitis etc. PAGB requested the concerned
authorities to make proper arrangements to keep Satpara Lake and its surrounding
clean. Moreover, they urged to organize and arrange awareness sessions to
sensitize public as it is the responsibility of each and every individual to
keep the environment clean and take the rubbish back with them. PAGB thanked their
partners: Baz e Ilm o Funn Skardu, Care for Community, Shehzad Ad and Waste
Management Department Skardu. PAGB is looking forward to collaborate with the
administration in upcoming future. Secretary Tourism and Culture was grateful to PAGB for raising the
