Tourism, Sports, Culture, Archaeology and Museums Department Gilgit-Baltistan financed the research & publication, divided into 02 volumes: one devoted to the Gilgit region (Astore, Diamer, Ghizer, Gilgit, Hunza, Nagar), and the other to Baltistan (Ghanche, Kharmang, Shigar, Skardu), in collaboration with the Aga Khan Cultural Service-Pakistan (AKCS-P) in order to promote Gilgit-Baltistan’s unique cultural heritage, while paving pathways for safeguarding and utilizing optimally the cultural resources of the region. The publication aims to inspire future efforts for the research, documentation, and preservation of the built heritage of Gilgit-Baltistan.
